What is the difference between physiotherapy, chiropractic treatment and osteopathy?

All three disciplines have similar foundations and many common goals.

Chiropractic practice is primarily focused on the manipulation of the spine in order to enhance the general health of other structures such as muscles and bones.

Osteopathy is focused on the general health of the musculo-skeletal system and is concerned with any structures which may be affected by the poor health of these systems.

Physiotherapy is more widely recognised and is an integral part of NHS healthcare; the range of conditions treated by means of physiotherapy is much larger than the other two concepts and there are many more methods which come under the umbrella term of physiotherapy.
